Well, most of the “front lounge crew” (aptly named for the hang-out lounge located in our residential sector, consisting of myself, Andy, Ben, Dan, Wiggly, James, Junior, and Chris) decided to stay up until we got on the ferry from England to France.
That lasted until about an hour before we got to the ferry, so we all just slept in our clothes in our bunks. Woke up, got off the bus on this weird ferry, and got some breakfast before wandering the bus with the dudes. Went out on the deck, and it was pitch black, freezing cold, rainy, and windy.. It was awesome! Looked out at the water and gained a sense of respect for survivors of plane crashes, Titanic, etc. How would you even want to survive in hypothermia-temperatured water like that?!?!
Finally got to get back on the bus, and by some miracle my phone still worked from my UK sim card so I talked to Kar before passing out. Woke up in Germany and found so many amazing things to do! Those consisted of: Walk to the gas station, buy food and drink.. Walk back in the rain.. Watch an entire season of South Park.. Watch The Life Aquatic.. Look at Chicago apartments on my computer.. Lose internet.. Fix internet.. Type blog..
And here I am!
Haha the issue was that we have no German money, and there is NOTHING around us.. I heard rumor there was a McDonalds like 3 miles away, but I was still asleep when they went. Needless to say, I’m really wishing we had a show tonight hahaha.
Tomorrow should be better with the first mainland European TDWP show ever!
The crowds on the Shikari tour were amazing, I couldn’t believe how much the kids reacted to us and I met a lot of cool people at the shows! We definitely need to come back here.
Some real exciting things are happening with TDWP, tons of really cool stuff that I can’t speak of, but if you care at all about our band be stoked!
I’m listening to MeWithoutYou, missing my girlfriend, my dogs, and Chicago, but I’m definitely having fun over here with the dudes.
God bless, have a wonderful day, and be thankful for the food in your belly and the people around you :]
I love everything musical, and I live in a tour bus and wonderful Chicago. I love films by/with Stanley Kubrick, Clint Eastwood, war movies, Indiana Jones, and most of all James Bond 007. My band and crew are my best friends, and Jesus is my strength, my truth, and my life.
I think I'm a fairly nice guy. I try to be friendly to most people I meet. I suck at posting blogs, and I'm insanely OCD.
